–––– Psychiatric Evaluation

A Clear Understanding of What You Are Experiencing.

A psychiatric evaluation is the first step toward effective mental health care. Your provider takes the time to understand your symptoms, your history, and what you want to change.

Evaluations are available by secure video for patients in Miami and across Florida.

–––– Where Care Begins

An Evaluation Built Around Your Story.

Mental health symptoms rarely fit a checklist. During your evaluation, your provider asks about what you are feeling, how long it has been happening, and how it affects your work, sleep, and relationships.

The goal is an accurate picture of what is going on, so that any treatment you start is the right one for you.

–––– When to Consider One

An Evaluation May Help If You Notice.

You do not need to be in crisis to ask for an evaluation. Many people come in because something has felt off for a while.

  • Persistent sadness, worry, or irritability
  • Changes in sleep, appetite, or energy
  • Difficulty concentrating at work or school
  • Mood changes that affect your relationships
  • Symptoms that returned after past treatment
  • Questions about a previous diagnosis or medication

–––– Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions.

What happens during a psychiatric evaluation?

Your provider asks about your symptoms, medical and mental health history, medications, and goals. At the end, you review the findings together and discuss treatment options.

Will I receive a diagnosis at the first visit?

In many cases your provider can share a working diagnosis at the end of the evaluation. Some situations need more information or follow-up before a diagnosis is confirmed.

Do you accept insurance?

We accept most major insurance plans for psychiatric care and offer self-pay options for patients without coverage.

If you are in crisis: Gen Medical Hub does not provide emergency services. If you are thinking about harming yourself or someone else, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), call 911, or go to the nearest emergency room.
